Much like the recent storm tore through the northwest the night before, Manchester City blew the visitors aside at the their home ground. It was a statement three goal win for their manager's side owing to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that truly announced their championship potential as they strengthened their place at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Losses for Manchester United

This result represented successive league defeats for Marc Skinner’s side for the initial occasion since May 2024, leaving them seven points off the table toppers with their title hopes in serious doubt.

United’s capability to juggle league and continental football with a small squad has been a hotly discussed topic since they earned a place in the Champions League.
