Correspondence Reveal Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bannon Relationship

Bannon served as the former president's top advisers prior to stepping down from the White House in August 2017

In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK to deliver a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to travel that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters slowed down my talk I doubt I can catch the plane we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an excellent assistant".

These messages were released on this week alongside more than 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's name is redacted. Media outlets has been able to confirm his identity by matching the timeline, occurrences, and places referenced.

For example, Epstein talks about chartering a jet from the UK for the redacted user in the chat, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and delivered the talk at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of Trump's closest aides in the run up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the White House in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a film about Epstein prior to his death and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his show earlier this year, he said: "We plan to release the film, the multi-part documentary, next year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents indicate Bannon's relationship with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the convicted paedophile at times appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A few days before the conversation in which Epstein seemed to arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r pretty good assistant", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you're well looked after."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The published messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in 2018.

On the day of his speech at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit issue this day with Nigel, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to Theresa May, the embattled UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "The guys are attempting to move on. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as much as you can uk. Best-- so others see the dedication of your follow through."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa May remain in power". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely BUT the people here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - someone has to step up".

May was finally toppled in May 2019 after withstanding multiple attempts of no confidence in late 2018.

A representative for Reform UK told the BBC: "Farage has never been in a meeting with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the justice department should make public all its records related to its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in jail in that year.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was reignited this week after the release of more than 20,000 pages from his estate.

A portion of those referenced Trump, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
